On May 16, 2016, the concrete of the last pile foundation of the Lweza bridge (5 # bridge) P2-R1, the branch line of the Uganda KE Airport Expressway Project, was successfully completed. So far, the construction of 615 pile foundations on the entire line of the project has been completed, and the project has achieved significant results. Phase results.
The Uganda KE project has a total length of 2.8 kilometers, with 515 main-line bridge foundations and 100 overpass pile foundations. 80% of the bridges are located in swamps, where the water in the swamps is acidic, reaching a depth of 12 meters. Most of the bridge pile foundations of this project are rock-socketed piles, and the longest design length is 55.4 meters. Construction of bored piles in deep-water marshes is carried out by erection of steel trestle bridges and steel platforms. Rock-socketed piles are drilled with impact drills to form holes. Because the pile foundation construction is underwater, and the geological conditions are complicated, there are many hidden dangers and the construction is difficult.
Since the start of the pile foundation, in order to complete the construction and production of bored cast-in-situ piles safely, high-quality, and efficient, the project department has taken it as a key process to tackle the problem. It has repeatedly organized technical personnel to conduct on-site surveys, grasp the geological conditions of the construction section, and prepare and verify Construction plan, holding construction technology and safety conference, at the same time, in the construction process, closely cooperate with the supervision and central laboratory to complete various tests to ensure that pile foundation construction technology, quality, and safety management are in a controllable state.
The pile foundation project is the milestone node of the project. The successful completion of the pile foundation construction has laid a good foundation for the overall completion of the project bridge, and at the same time, provided the motivation and guarantee for the smooth implementation of the main project of the project.
