On January 2, the south main tower of the Chaoma Railway Ma'anshan Highway Yangtze River Bridge, which was constructed by China Communications Second Navigation Bureau, successfully completed the concrete pouring of the caps, marking that the world's largest span three-tower cable-stayed bridge will be transferred to the tower column construction phase.
As the world’s first kilometer-class three-tower dual-purpose cable-stayed bridge, the design height of the three main towers of the bridge exceeds 300 meters, and the total length of the two main spans is 2,240 meters. The tower height and span are the highest in the world of the same type of bridge. The Z5 main tower cap is a dumbbell-shaped structure, covering an area of more than 3,000 square meters, equivalent to the size of 7 basketball courts. The cap is 9.5 meters thick and is poured in 3 layers, with a total of about 25,600 cubic meters of concrete poured. Since the concrete pouring of the first layer of the cap on November 16, 2021, all the employees involved in the war have worked for 47 days, working in two shifts 24 hours a day without interruption, with a variety of large equipment, and finally successfully completed the pouring of the south main tower cap.
The Chaoma Intercity Railway is an important part of the Hefei-Shanghai section of the Shanghai-Hanrong Railway, one of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" main passages of the national railway network. It is of great significance to promote the deep integration of Maanshan City into the two metropolitan areas of Nanjing and Hefei, and to promote the integration of the Yangtze River Delta and the higher-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
