Ningbo Zhoushan Port Liuheng Highway Bridge Phase II project is a major infrastructure connecting Liuheng, Meishan and other important islands in Ningbo-Zhoushan Port sea area. The project starts from the southwest of Liuheng Island and passes through Liuheng, Fodu and Meishan three independent islands from east to west. The total length of the line is 18.78 kilometers, which is built according to the standard of two-way four-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

As a large-scale cross-sea island connecting project, this project is composed of many Bridges and connecting lines. The span of Shuangyumen Super Bridge is 1,768 meters, which is the largest single-span steel box girder suspension bridge in the world and also the largest span cross-sea bridge in China. Once completed, it will refresh the largest span of cross-sea bridge in China. Qinglongmen Bridge is the world's longest three-tower steel box girder cable-stayed bridge, with two main spans of 756 meters across the Qinglongmen Channel. The main tower is a diamond-shaped steel concrete bridge tower with a height of 249 meters.

The project construction scale is large, structure types are many, high science and technology content. The whole line connects 3 independent islands, crosses 4 reclamation areas and crosses 2 straits. The length of the bridge in the whole line is about 9 kilometers, and the amount of offshore work is large. The meteorological, hydrological and geological conditions in the project construction area are complicated, and the shipping is busy, making it difficult to organize the offshore construction.

In this construction, the construction team of the Group and China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau will for the first time adopt the design concept of the left and right allogenic expansion of basic gravity anchorage structure adapted to the ridge landform of the sea islands, and innovate the application of the construction technology of ultra-small clear distance tunnel anchor on the island of the super-large cross-sea suspension bridge, so as to improve the construction efficiency on the basis of meeting the use function.

The successful contract of the project fills the gap in the performance of the long-span bridge of China Railway Construction Corporation and marks a new history in the construction of the cross-sea bridge of China Railway Construction Corporation.
